INTERNSHIP AT BHS
The internship at BHS is at the heart of the GATEWAI program.  Under the General direction of Dr. Marilyn Pettit, VP for Collections at BHS, and the direct supervision of the Archives Education Coordinator, students carry out projects including inventories, guides and pathfinders.  Internships consist of 15 all-day sessions at BHS which are supported by GATEWAI stipends of $150 per day.  (See program benefits)   The internship is a required course for the Archives Certificate Program which all students enrolled in the GATEWAI program must complete.

Internship Prerequisites - The GATEWAI internship requires prerequisites similar to the regular SILS practicum; you must first take the core courses (12 credits) and for GATEWAI, in addition to the core, LIS 625, before you can enroll. In some cases, prerequisites can be waived with the approval of Dr. Marilyn Pettit, BHS, VP for Collections upon recommendation of Dr. Giannini, Program Director.

Students enrolled in the GATEWAI internship will register for LIS 698 - Practicum Seminar, Virginia Papandrea Instructor.
Contact Ms. Papandrea in the SILS office to register for this course once you have been accepted as a student in the program. vpapandr@pratt.edu
