Practical Training and Employment

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) Team understands many international students are interested in training and work opportunities at Pratt and beyond. By law though, employment options for international students are quite limited in nature, duration, and scope. Please do not plan on financing your studies through work, and do not perform any services inside the U.S. (even unpaid or for non-U.S. entities), without obtaining proper authorization first. OIA strongly recommends conservative choices to ensure you avoid immigration problems with unauthorized employment, now or in the future. We also recommend Pratt’s Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) as a key resource.
