Commencement

If you have completed your credit requirements (or will complete them by Summer 2026), you MUST fill out the Graduation Application (GradApp) by December 31, 2025. This application will let us know you have completed your journey at Pratt Institute and are ready to receive your diploma! This will also get you on the mailing list for information about the Commencement ceremony.

Pratt Institute will host a commencement ceremony to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Winter 2026, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 graduates.

Graduating is the administrative process to complete your degree and receive your diploma, while Commencement is the ceremony to celebrate that achievement! You can graduate without participating in commencement, but you cannot participate in commencement without graduating.

The deadline to fill out the Graduation Application (GradApp) is December 31.

• November 24: Students can begin ordering regalia through Herff Jones. Faculty will receive an email to RSVP for Commencement, which includes details on ordering regalia. You must wear a cap and gown to participate in the Commencement ceremony.
• December 5: Attend the Class of ‘26 Kickoff
• December 31: Deadline to submit the Grad App. This action will get you on the mailing list for important updates about the 2026 Commencement ceremony, including ticket information.
• February 27- March 6, 2026: Request your tickets for the Commencement ceremony! You must request a ticket to attend. The form will be emailed on February 27 to all students who filled out the Grad App.
  • Ticket Details: Every student who complete the Grad App by December 31 AND respond to the ticket form by the March 6 deadline can request up to 2 guest tickets. We will collect extra ticket requests and distribute them IF they become available.
• March 6: Deadline for faculty to complete the RSVP form for Commencement and the Faculty Reception. Please complete this form even if you have your own regalia.
• Late March: Extra tickets (if available) will be offered to students who requested them by the March 7 deadline, but you must claim them via the extra ticket form. Check your Pratt email for a form to claim your extra ticket!
• March 26: Deadline for ordering student regalia for campus pick up at Grad Fair.
• April 5: Deadline for ordering student regalia for standard home shipping.
• April 28, May 1, and May 2: Pick up your regalia, academic and leadership cords and braids, and faculty pass to Commencement at Grad Fair, hosted at the Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses. Get in-person help with your Commencement tickets.
• May 19: Attend Pratt Institute’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony!

Regalia is required for graduating students and faculty.

Students – the order form will open in November and close in April.

Faculty – you will receive an email in December linking to a form where you can request regalia and RSVP. You must complete this form by March 6 to attend all ceremonies and receptions, even if you have your own regalia.
