Here are your officers for 2008-2009.
Romel Espinel is a graphic artist, musician and writer in the New York City metropolitan area. He received his Bachelor of Arts from New Jersey City University where he majored in English and minored in Photography. He attended Rutgers University's Master of Arts in English program. He was an editor and writer for his college newspapers and later professionally, music and political magazines, where he covered everything from punk rock to the Mexican Elections of 1994 and the UNAM student strike of 1998. He continues to play in his current band, No Pasaran!
Romel started Pratt-SILS in Spring 2007. His areas of concentration at SILS are Instructional Technology and Information Architecture within the Academic Library or Information Centers.
"Jessica Speer currently works as a research assistant. She is interested in medical, art and general librarianship, especially reference, knowledge organization, and librarians working to support researchers in the field. She is an information visualization enthusiast. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys comics, zines, knitting, and playing music with her band, The Shamblers."
Lilli Schestag graduated from Washington College with a BA in Humanities. Her degree concentrated on Art History, English, and German studies. After graduating, Lilli moved to London where she worked as the Events Assistant for The Art Fund, a leading arts charity in the UK. Originally from Maryland, Lilli then moved to Colorado where she managed indoor and outdoor exhibitions for the Museum of Outdoor Arts. Upon receiving her MLS at Pratt, Lilli hopes to work in an art museum library.
Kate, a resident of East Windsor, New Jersey, is finishing up her first year at Pratt-SILS. She received her B.A. in Government/Public Administration (minor in Speech Communication) summa cum laude from York College of Pennsylvania in 2000 and hopes to have her M.S.L.I.S from Pratt (with a Museum Libraries advanced certificate) in May 2010. At Pratt, she is a member of SILSSA, contributing articles and copy editing services to Keyword. Kate is employed temporarily (until August 2008) as the law librarian at the New Jersey law firm of Saiber LLC, and will return to her marketing position with the Firm when her library assignment concludes. When she iss not processing books and periodicals and locating opinions for her attorneys (or writing their bios and making them look good), she also maintains various trust accounts for three products liability cases overseen by one of Saiber’s retired federal judges. Kate is also a Visitor Services Volunteer at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and Secretary of the York College of PA New York City Metro Area Alumni Association. In whatever spare time she has left, Kate enjoys photography, computers, baseball, hockey, and is ridiculously addicted to the works of Michael Chabon, the Strand Bookstore, British comedies, and the TV shows Mad Men, The Colbert Report and Scrubs.
