MSCI-411P Barcelona Resilience Thinking Design

In this transdisciplinary three-week-long Barcelona Summer professor-led course, we analyze Barcelona, well-known for its Mediterranean Culture, Design, Culture, Architecture and Mediterranean cuisine, has become a social innovative hub and Barcelona's implementation of the SDG Agenda 2030 Barcelona such as the Super-block project, and we will visit innovative actions and project led by community-led resilient initiatives. We collect data on these existing projects through methodologies such as the Resilience Thinking Approach and students will design envisions and artifacts that could be applicable in real life in order to facilitate the sustainability of cities. We will compare Barcelona to NYC and explore lessons learned and how they might apply to our city's context.
