SS-257GP Global Asias

3 Credits

This course explores the concept of Asia as theory, method, and practice. The course materials challenge the framing of Asia as merely comprising bounded nation-state entities, instead foregrounding the ways that globalization structures the past, present, and futures of the region in the form of entanglements and crossings. Emphasizing multidisciplinarity, and multimedia modalities of learning, the course attends to the study of the flows of people, cultural practices, and capital and power, within and across Asia, and throughout the world.
