Commencement

On Tuesday May 20, 2025 Pratt Institute will host a commencement ceremony to celebrate the hard work, resilience, and achievements of our Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2025, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 graduates.

Grad Fair is where students and faculty will pick up pre-ordered cap and gown from our vendor, Herff Jones.

Students can pre-order here by March 7; Faculty pre-order via an rsvp form that came to your Pratt email address. Students also pick up honors cords and can have their graduation portrait taken (reservation required).

The deadline to fill out the Graduation Application (GradApp) passed on February 14. If you missed this deadline but have completed your credit requirements (or will complete them by Summer 2025) and want to attend Commencement, please email commence@pratt.edu.

Graduating is the administrative process to complete your degree and receive your diploma, while Commencement is the ceremony to celebrate that achievement! You can graduate without attending commencement, but you cannot attend commencement without graduating. The deadline to fill out the Graduation Application (GradApp) passed on February 14. Please email commence@pratt.edu if you missed the deadline and want to attend Commencement.

• February 28 – March 7, 2025: Request your tickets for the commencement ceremony! The form will be emailed on February 28 to all students who filled out the Grad App.
  • Ticket Details: 2 guest tickets will be available to every student who completed the Grad App by the 2/14/2025 deadline and respond to the ticket form by the 3/7/2025 deadline. We will collect extra ticket requests and distribute them if they become available.
• March 7, 2025: Deadline to order your regalia (cap and gown).
• Mid-late March 2025: Check your Pratt email for a form to claim your extra ticket(s)! Extra tickets (if available) will be offered to students who requested them by the March 7 deadline, but you must claim them via the extra ticket form. 
• April 29, May 2, and May 3, 2025: Pick up your regalia and honors cords (if applicable) at the Grad Fair, hosted in Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses. Get in-person help with your commencement tickets.
• May 2025: Tickets will be accessible in the MSG Account Manager site.
• May 20, 2025: Attend Pratt Institute’s 2025 Commencement Ceremony at Radio City Music Hall!

Calling all Pratt Musicians and Vocalists! Audition for the opportunity to perform at Pratt Institute’s 2025 Commencement Ceremony.

“Far Above Cayuga’s Waters”, composed by Archibald Croswell Weeks and Wilmot Moses Smith is the Pratt Institute anthem, or Alma Mater. Each year, as part of the commencement ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, the Alma Mater is performed by one or more graduating students.

If you would like the opportunity to perform this piece on stage for the Class of 2025 and their guests, please submit your audition video via this form by March 7, 2025.
