COVID-19 is still with us. Pratt will continue to follow guidance from the CDC, as well as city, state, and federal directives, and may revise policies if circumstances require.
Here’s what you can do.
Masks
Pratt encourages you to wear a mask when you are ill or have been exposed to others who are ill to decrease your risk of spreading any respiratory illness. Additionally, masks are recommended when local COVID-19 levels increase, especially when you are indoors or in large crowds. Pratt remains a mask-friendly campus and supports those who choose to wear one. Pratt continues to follow the guidance of our local and federal health authorities.
Vaccination
Pratt strongly encourages everyone to remain current with COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. This is, however, no longer an institutional requirement. Vaccines are readily available through a variety of local health departments and pharmacies. Please follow the recommendations of your health care provider.
Testing
Testing for respiratory viruses (including COVID-19, RSV, and flu) is available at NYC health clinics. Students who are experiencing symptoms and do not have access to a COVID test may call Health Services to discuss their symptoms and testing options. Faculty and staff who are experiencing symptoms should discuss their situation with their supervisor or chair.
What you should do if you feel ill:
- Students
- Put on a mask and get tested—either take an at-home test or contact
- Health Services for guidance.
- If you test positive, follow these steps.
- Faculty/Staff
- Put on a mask and get tested through a medical provider, urgent care center, or an at-home test.
- Contact your supervisor or chair to address staffing concerns.
- If you test positive, follow these steps.
