Can I Make A Credit Card Payment In Person At The Cashiering Office?
We will no longer accept credit card payments in person. We will have kiosks available in our lobby for students wishing to make an in-person credit card payment. For students who need guidance, please feel free to visit Student Financial Services on the 2nd floor of Myrtle Hall building.
Do Other Colleges And Universities Charge Convenience Fees For Credit Card Payments?
Yes. The change in our online credit card payment structure is similar to the structure that has been adopted by many universities across the country: offer online credit card payment through a third-party processor, who assesses a service fee to the payer. The service fee goes directly to the third-party processor (Point & Pay) to cover the fees charged by the credit card companies.
Can I Make Payment On A Student Account By Credit Card/Debit Card?
Yes. However, credit/debit card payments are only accepted online via Point & Pay through MyPratt Portal. Pratt Institute does NOT ACCEPT credit/debit payments by mail, in-person, over the phone, or via fax for student account payments.
Is There A Fee For Paying By A Credit Or Debit Card?
Credit/debit card users will be assessed a separate, non-refundable convenience fee calculated as 2.5% of the payment amount at the time of each credit/debit card payment toward a student account. The non-refundable convenience fee will be assessed by Point & Pay and will appear as a separate charge on your credit/debit card statement.
Why Is Doesn’t Pratt Institute Accept Debit/Credit Card Payments Directly?
The cost associated with processing credit/debit cards has continued to grow each year and in the effort to minimize the annual tuition increases, we can no longer absorb this cost. However, Pratt wants to continue to offer the option to pay by credit/debit cards. Contracting with Point and Pay allows students to continue to use credit/debit cards with enhanced transaction security and improved processing. Pratt will continue to offer free payment options including online e-check payments.
How Can I Pay My Student Account And Avoid The Convenience Fee?
E-check payments from checking and savings accounts will continue to be accepted online by Pratt Institute through the ACH (Automated Clearing House) Network without a convenience fee via onepratt Portal. Cash and check payments can be made in person at Student Financial Services on the 2nd floor of the Myrtle Hall building. (Please do not send cash through the mail).
Check payments may be mailed to:

Why Are Credit/Debit Card Payments Only Accepted Online?
Credit/debit card charges are processed by Point & Pay, not Pratt Institute. As a result, Pratt no longer has the ability to accept credit/debit card payments in-person, by mail or via fax. Pratt will continue to process check and cash transactions or ACH (electronic checks) in person, or via mail or fax.
What Type Of Cards Are Accepted?
You can make student account payments online with all major credit/debit cards.
Will Pratt Institute Accept Credit/Debit Card Payments Directly For Charges Other Than Tuition And Fees?
Pratt Institute will continue to accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover credit/debit card payments without a convenience fee for non-student account payments, including but not limited to library fees, lost key/ID card fees, tickets, donations, all events (athletic, alumni, etc.), food service areas, bookstores, etc.
Why Can’t I See The Convenience Fee Charge On My Student Account?
The convenience fee is assessed by Point & Pay, not Pratt Institute, so it will not appear on your student account. The convenience fee will appear as a separate charge on your credit/debit card statement.
Is The Convenience Fee Refundable?
The 2.5% convenience fee is non-refundable. Any convenience fee disputes must be taken directly to your credit/debit card issuer.
