Meet With A Counselor

Two students look at a laptop screen attentively.

Admissions counselors meet with prospective students during on-campus or virtual meetings. Undergraduate students may also opt-in to a portfolio review, which are offered Monday through Friday from April 1 to November 15. Counselors will also meet with admitted students who may have questions about attending Pratt beginning in March.

What should you bring to a portfolio review? When meeting with one of our undergraduate admissions counselors for a portfolio review, please bring no more than 10 – 15 original pieces of your most recent work in 2-D or 3-D formats as well as sketchbook material, if you have it. Please note that all portfolio reviews are for feedback and guidance only. They do not constitute a formal official review for admission. If you are unable to bring original work, we are happy to view work on your iPad or laptop.

We do not provide portfolio reviews for graduate students or applicants interested in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (Writing, Critical and Visual Studies, BA in History of Art and Design). Construction Management does not require a portfolio. Please note that all portfolio reviews are for feedback and guidance only. They do not constitute a formal official review for admission and are not required.Read about Pratt’s portfolio requirements.

First-Year Freshman Admissions Counselors

High school students are invited to meet with an admissions counselor on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus or virtually. Appointments require 2 weeks notice.

Although our Admissions Counselors work closely with the majors they are associated with, all of our counselors are knowledgeable about each of Pratt’s schools, departments, and majors, and would be happy to meet with you!

You can connect directly with a counselor by reaching out below, or complete one of the following forms to meet in-person in the Admissions office or virtually via Zoom.

**Appointments after November 15th are possible but extremely limited. During this time, our counseling staff are busy processing the large volume of applications we receive so that we can provide admissions decisions in as timely a manner as possible. If you are interested in an appointment after November 15th, please contact admissions@pratt.edu for availability.
