Marc Rosen Scholarship Fund for Packaging by Design was created to drive new and innovative thinking in the realm of packaging excellence. Its intent is to foster future-facing design development, stretch our boundaries of creativity and catalyze exciting redefinitions of packaging success.
Applicants to the Packaging, Identities and Systems Design program who follow our application deadlines will be considered for these opportunities:
- Marc Rosen Excellence in Sustainable Packaging Scholarship (awarded to one incoming student in even years, eg: 2024, 2026, 2028)
- Marc Rosen Scholarship for Packaging by Design (awarded to one incoming student every year)

Award Details:
1. The Marc Rosen Excellence in Sustainable Packaging Scholarship. Applicants will be selected based on their interest in the impact of design decisions on local and global resources and communities. A portfolio of work that addresses social and environmental concerns will be taken into consideration. All applicants for Packaging, Identities and Systems Design will be considered, and selection will be announced prior to the beginning of each scholarship year.
2. The Marc Rosen Scholarship for Packaging by Design will be selected based on an understanding of design practice and a portfolio of work that demonstrates a breadth of practices and a potential for excellence and growth. All applicants for Packaging, Identities and Systems Design will be considered, and selection will be announced prior to the beginning of each scholarship year.
Scholarship Criteria and Guidelines
Each scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student in the designated season who meet the following criteria:
- Graduate Student
- Packaging, Identities and Systems Design Student
- Demonstrated academic merit
- The applicant should have demonstrated interest in the topic of sustainability and/or packaging design excellence
- Both international and domestic students are eligible
- The scholarship will be awarded without regard to sex, race, age, creed, color, national or ethnic origin, marital status, or disability.
Scholarship Requirements
As part of Pratt’s educational mission each scholarship recipient will be required to participate in an outreach activity to share their project, work, or expertise with Marc Rosen, the Graduate Communications Design department and in public venues including but not limited to an onsite or virtual program, blog post, collections tour, panel discussion, at Pratt’s discretion.
