The festival greets spring with three days of compelling documentary films, food & wine receptions, engaging speakers, authors, and participation by local advocates. This year’s theme is “Deep Roots: Our Connection to Trees, Woodlands, Forests.”
William Bryant Logan is the author of Sprout Lands, Oak, Air, and Dirt, the last of which was made into an award- winning documentary. He is a certified arborist, on the faculty of the New York Botanical Garden, and founder and president of Urban Arborists, Inc. Autographed books will be available for purchase
Through the prism of Indigenous wisdom, scientific discovery and artistic expression, the film Giants Rising illuminates the mysteries of the colossal redwoods: their impressive endurance of more than 2,000 years, and their defenses against wildfires. Director Lisa Landers captures the awe-inspiring scenery with extraordinary cinematography that brings the forests’ inner world to life.
