cohabitations

How do we live together and share our built environment?

Across the Pratt School of Architecture, our students, staff, and faculty work deeply in looking at the design, planning, and management of affordable and equitable housing, structures that serve the public, as well as how to improve public space design and use—all while considering environmental justice and social equity.

cohabitations is a school-wide provocation to bring together the work of our community— across our four departments of the School of Architecture – around this question.

cohabitations is both a descriptive adjective, a qualifying adverb and a transitive verb that calls us all to action. We hope that in reflecting on this term this year, we foster spirited discussion and exchanges across our community and the communities in which we find ourselves as cohabitors.
