ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS
Applicants for admission to the MFA degree program in Photography must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college, university or art/design school or the equivalent degree from a recognized international institution. It is not required that applicants have majored in studio art as undergraduates, only that they demonstrate their readiness for the challenges of MFA studies.
Please take note of the general graduate admissions requirements in addition to the Departmental Requirements page as they are constantly updated by the Department of Admissions with current policies.
APPLICATION ADVICE
Images: We recommend strongly that students submit individual image slides of works or installations, and not a PDF with multiple details, texts, and titles therein. This helps the committee efficiently and effectively review your portfolio.
Curation: We recommend choosing images that show a strong artistic voice, and deep engagement. For this reason, we discourage presenting works that are primarily technical demonstrations.
