Other Events and Receptions

There are several events that celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025. In addition to ceremonies and receptions, multicultural and affinity graduation celebrations allow graduates to celebrate the cultural intersections in their lives and honor the communities to which they belong. These celebrations are open to anyone in the Pratt community who wants to celebrate a particular culture or group.

Awards Convocation

The annual Awards Convocation will take place, recognizing students for their academic achievements and service during their time at Pratt. A reception will follow in front of the ARC on the Brooklyn campus.

Lavender Graduation

The Office of Student Involvement and Alumni Engagement will invite graduating LGBTQIA+ students to Pratt Institute’s Lavender Graduation. Pratt’s Lavender Graduation is an annual ceremony to recognize, acknowledge and celebrate the achievements and contributions of our graduating LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, plus) students. Presentation of rainbow cords are given to be worn at Commencement the next day.

Black Alumni of Pratt’s Donning of the Kente Ceremony

The Black Alumni of Pratt (BAP) will hold its Donning of the Kente, a ceremony celebrating graduating BAP students and their achievements. Kente cloth has its roots in the long tradition of weaving in West African countries. Each student will receive a stole embellished with Kente, to be worn with their academic regalia at graduation.
