FVID-383P Cinematic Artificial Intelligence

In this course, students will learn how to enhance and transform their creative processes usingAI tools, a step that will redefine their skills in filmmaking. They will delve into innovativetechniques for synthesizing and generating media in various forms, including 3D, video, audio,and imagery. These techniques will be applied in practical projects, enhancing and expeditingtheir creative methods and imagination through the strategic use of AI. Additionally, studentswill gain proficiency in harnessing these tools to extend their creative boundaries, withexploratory projects serving as a foundation for developing approaches to future creativeendeavors and film productions. The course will cover the historical trajectory AI has taken tothe present day. The course is inherently technical due to the the nature of working with AItools, but is designed to be accessible for all experience levels. Assignments are tailoredaround the use of AI, by allowing full creative freedom to the students, as such freedom isafforded by the AI tools themselves. Ethical considerations surrounding AI and its place in theindustry and more broadly are discussed consistently throughout the course as each categoryof tool is explored. Artists working with AI will be giving presentations on their work andprocess with AI tools throughout the course.
