FDC-440P Fabrication Lab
3 Credits
Foundation Expanded: Fabrication Lab provides students an opportunity to work at a large scale and in a public space by building a series of interventions along the Myrtle Avenue Plaza. The aim of the program is to give students the ability to engage their local community, develop entrepreneurship skills, and work collaboratively to maximize their social impact. Foundation Expanded: Fabrication Lab provides students from different departments the opportunity to develop and fabricate the selected proposals for Foundation Expanded: Myrtle Ave. Public Projects (MAPP) as a cross-listed elective course. Students will work collaboratively and cross-disciplinarily to refine, prototype, and produce the selected proposals for each intervention site, and will learn appropriate material selection, fabrication techniques, and assembly processes for each project.
