Embracing opportunities for technology transfer Hybrid Habitats. Bio-Tech for Development aims to engage with biotechnology and biomaterials, such as the date palm, which has been in economic circulation for around 7,000 years. Biodesign Challenge (BDC) is an annual student competition, where selected projects will be presented at the BDC Summit. The aim of the course and the challenge will be; to develop a diverse range of new materials and applications that will emerge as a result of technology transfer: a theoretical framework for positioning biomaterials in the context of sustainable development practices will be provided.
