The Caribbean played a crucial role in the rise of the modern world and design played no small part. This course explores how, from 1492 to the present, urban design, architecture, interiors, graphic design and more were utilized to construct the region, with notable global implications. Organized around a number of landscapes, such as slavery, environmental catastrophe, and utopias, this course centers the historical contexts of these designs and their contemporary repercussions.
