MSCI-320P Materials Science for Architects, Artists, and Designers

This course will introduce different materials and their unique properties to students studying to become architects, artists, and designers, informing their decisions about what materials to use in their work. The course will explore the subject's interdisciplinary nature and find the nexus between materials science and the technical history of art, design, and architecture. Students will explore the fundamental properties of materials for specific applications and explore topics in sustainability relevant to materials selection.
