This course combines Vinyasa style (flowing Yoga poses connected to breathing), Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra (conscious rest) practice for optimal wellness and balance. Students will study and practice postural alignment, endurance, flexibility, and balance in the physical portion of the class. During the Yoga Nidra portion of the class, students will learn about Yoga Nidra philosophy and benefits based on recent scientific research of this practice's ability to relieve stress and PTSD; and will focus on breath, relaxation, meditation and stress relief techniques. Students will develop a greater awareness of their bodies, mindful alignment, and the body-mindenvironment connection. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to establish their own Yoga Nidra and Vinyasa practice.
