Corkie Bolton, BFA Fine Arts (Jewelry) ’07, published the Metalsmith Society’s Guide To Making Jewelry, a book with tips, techniques, and tutorials for soldering silver, stonesetting, and more. Bolton is the founder of the Metalsmith Society which brings together jewelers to support each other through sharing knowledge.

Ten Pratt student design projects are featured in the latest edition of the digital Dezeen School Shows, including work on AR and VR that engages with historic architecture, educational spaces that foster empathy, and the reinstatement of Indigenous land.

Fine Arts Civic Engagement Fellow Mary Mattingly is featured in Food in New York on view through September 30, 2023, at the Museum of the City of New York. Mattingly’s “Biosphere,” a structural ecosystem made from waste stream materials, was highlighted in exhibition coverage on Cool Hunting, Time Out, and 6sqft.

Taylor Paige Garvin, BFA Fashion Design ’23, was named one of Teen Vogue’s 2022 Generation Next Innovators. The winners were selected for their experimental designs and inventive use of materials.

Architectural Digest included Pratt on its list of the “Prettiest College Campuses in America”: “Known for its architecture, interior design, and industrial design degrees, it’s no wonder the campus is stunning.”

“Lovie Dovie” by Frankie Brescia, BFA Digital Arts ’22, was named Best Animation at the 2022 SF Queer Film Fest. It will be screened at Fringe! Queer Film Fest in London (September 20-25) and Lovesick Film Festival in Jersey City (September 28).

Professor Emeritus Bruce Hannah, BID ’63, was honored with an Individual Achievement Award in the 2022 Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Awards. The recognition noted that he “is one of the great industrial designers and educators, as well as a forceful advocate for design, design education, and design students.”

Pratt + Platinum Guild International announced the 2022 Platinum Design DNA Award winners. They include students Ziqi Xie, Daiwen Wang, and Jiayi Liang who will be working with Krainz Creations to fabricate their designs, which you can see @pratt_institute_jewelry.
