The fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection by Sophie Andes-Gascon, BFA Fashion Design ’15, and Visiting Instructor Claire McKinney, BFA Fashion Design ’15, of SC103 was featured by Vogue, including its innovative presentation: “Instead of a show this season, the designers boxed up their fall collection, secured it with logo tape, and sent it off to a friend in California and asked her to wear it in her world.”

Pratt was included on UpCity’s list of “Best Graphic Design Schools That Produce Expert Designers.” The article highlighted the School of Art’s career-track AOS Graphic Design and Illustration programs, AAS Graphic Design/Illustration program, BFA in Digital Arts, MPS in Design Management, and MFA in Digital Arts.

Pratt industrial design students were awarded several honors in the 2023 IESNYC Student Lighting Competition. Qianhui Lino received second place; Fia Huston received third place; and Yinuo Liu, Chanbin Im, and Jiayan Li received honorable mentions.

“You and I” by Pujarini Ghosh and Yebin Han, both MFA Digital Arts (Interactive Arts) ’23, is now on view at the Museum of Digital Experiences in Brooklyn. The interactive installation on addressing biases in AI is part of the museum’s opening exhibition of works showcasing the future of art and technology.

Delmy M. Lendof, vice president for student affairs, is one of the 2023 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Foundation Pillars of the Profession. The annual awards recognize distinguished leaders, teachers, and scholars in student affairs and higher education. She will be honored on April 4, 2023, at an awards celebration.

Jean Shin, adjunct professor-CCE of fine arts, created a hanging sculpture for the Brooklyn Heights Library that celebrates over 125 years of the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL). Made of denim and old tech donated by patrons, “Something Borrowed, Something Blue” illuminates to map all the neighborhoods with BPL locations. It was covered by Time Out New York, Brooklyn Paper, and Bklyner.

The Rage issue of The Prattler, the student-run literary arts magazine, is now online. It includes stories on ax throwing, feminist rage in the design industry, and the meaning of the mosh pit.

Hyojung Cha, MFA Interior Design ’23, was named Emerging Interior Designer of the Year-Eating Space in the 2022 LIV Hospitality Awards. Cha’s project “Mad for Garlic” is inspired by the geometric shape of garlic in its patterns, walls, and partitions.

WIP Collaborative—a New York-based design platform that includes Abigail Coover, adjunct associate professor of undergraduate architecture, Sera Ghadaki, MArch ’18, Sonya Gimon, MS Sustainable Environmental Systems ’18, and Elsa Ponce, MPS Design Management ’17—was honored with the New Perspectives Award at this year’s AIA New York Design Awards.
