The Fine Arts MFA 2023 publication is now available at the MFA Thesis Show and can be explored online. The two-part exhibition, called Making Place, features 41 artists and is on view in the Pfizer Building.

Catherine Chattergoon, BArch ’24, shared a day in her life in the Pratt Rome Program with Madame Architect. She highlighted the learning opportunities in the program, which is marking its 50th year anniversary, and her experiences with accessibility: “We have the power to create a world that works for everyone.”

Pratt’s Interior Design study abroad program in Japan led by Adjunct Associate Professor – CCE Tetsu Ohara was awarded a Global Pillar Award by the International Education of Students (IES Abroad) for excellent faculty-led programming.

Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya, MFA Communications Design ’15, partnered with BART and the San Francisco Asian Women’s Shelter to create a public art campaign focused on domestic violence prevention. It includes artworks in stations and in trains across the BART system and was covered by KQED and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Jane South, chair of fine arts, was on a recent episode of Sound & Vision, a podcast which hosts conversations with artists and musicians about the creative process.

The fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection by Sophie Andes-Gascon, BFA Fashion Design ’15, and Visiting Instructor Claire McKinney, BFA Fashion Design ’15, of SC103 was featured by Vogue, including its innovative presentation: “Instead of a show this season, the designers boxed up their fall collection, secured it with logo tape, and sent it off to a friend in California and asked her to wear it in her world.”

Pratt was included on UpCity’s list of “Best Graphic Design Schools That Produce Expert Designers.” The article highlighted the School of Art’s career-track AOS Graphic Design and Illustration programs, AAS Graphic Design/Illustration program, BFA in Digital Arts, MPS in Design Management, and MFA in Digital Arts.
