Black Dress Talks: Beauty
November 14, 2024 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Online and Higgins Hall
A Critical Conversations Event
Join us for the fifth event in our ongoing series, “Black Dress Talks,” where we spotlight the invaluable contributions of Black men and women in the fashion industry. Through compelling stories, we delve into the creativity, perseverance, obstacles, and triumphs that define their journeys.
This conversation will be moderated by Pratt Fashion Professor Adrienne Jones, founder of Black Dress, and joined by award-winning hair and beauty experts Karen Dupiche, Alfred Fornay, Ursula Stephen, D’angelo Thompson, and Mamie McDonald for an in-depth conversation about beauty from the artists and stylists who engage us with everything from the latest on the runway to the behind the scenes fashion stories.
This event is made possible by the generous support of the Jane B Nord Professor of Fashion Design Endowment, the Pratt Fashion Department, the Black Alumni of Pratt, the Pratt Offices of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and the Pratt Institute Academic Senate.

This event is part of Critical Conversations: creating space for and educating one another about our multiple cultural contexts, activism, civil discourse, and academic engagement.
