Collaborative Futures: Youth-Led Co-Design on Governors Island

Collaborative Futures draws from a series of youth-led co-design workshops facilitated by the Pratt SoD Co-Design Studio in partnership with the Stephen T. Mather Building Arts and Craftsmanship High School and National Park Service. This retrospective looks back on a year-long collaboration to offer a glimpse into the future of community-engaged design practice. Viewers are encouraged to engage with the exhibition and to contribute through participatory action.

The exhibition will be on view to the public from 10 Oct- 23 Oct 2024.

*Attendees are encouraged to take the 3:45 ferry from the Battery Maritime Building to attend the Exhibition Opening. The last ferry to depart for Governors Island will leave at 4:15.

Collaborative Futures is curated by Irina Schneid, Christian Adamik, Olivia Julich, and Jose Inclan with special thanks to Pratt Institute School of Design, Pratt Center for Art, Design, Community Engagement K-12, Provost Office of Research and Strategic Partnerships, Stephen T Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School, The National Park Service, and Swale NYC.

“Collaborative Futures” attendees should plan to take the 3:15 or 3:45 Governors Island Ferry (not NYC Ferry) from Pier 11/Wall Street to make it in time for our 4:15 event start time.
MTA subway access to Pier 11 is via the 2 and 3 trains to Wall St. Walk down Wall St 2 blocks to South Street. Turn right on South Street. Pier 11 will be on the left.
Upon arrival to Governors Island, “Collaborative Futures” Exhibition is located in the Swale House, Nolan Park House 11, a 5 minute walk from Pier 101.
