Deep Dive Relational Pedagogy

March 5, 2025 12:00 PM – 1:15 PM

Online

A Critical Conversations Event

In this deep dive we will explore some of the key aspects of relational pedagogy. As a pedagogical framework that draws on critical theory/critical pedagogy but also feminist and postmodern ideas of the person learning, this program will first of all seek to explore the experience of building relationships within this learning community and in the contexts in which we teach, work, and live. The focus of our activity will be on creating ideas, prompts, activities, assignments, and approaches for our teaching practices and reflecting on the process of learning together, in order to bring our experiences as learners into greater alignment with our practices as educators. By the end of the deep dive, participants will have a small portfolio of teaching ideas and materials built from a relational pedagogy framework.

This event is part of Critical Conversations: creating space for and educating one another about our multiple cultural contexts, activism, civil discourse, and academic engagement.
