Pratt 2024 Design Symposium: Design Beyond Boundaries/Rethinking the Future

November 19, 2024 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Lila Acheson Wallace Auditorium, The Asia Society, 725 Park Avenue

Reinvention, Renewal, Restoration, and Recycling are all driving forces behind good design today. But what factors create visionary expression? In what ways do designers see new yet crucial and expansive opportunities to contribute to society through their craft? And what role – and what responsibility – does design play in meaningful human uplift? The idea that design plays an irreplaceable role in leading not only new experiences but laying paths for a better, more sustainable world is driving design thinking, design processes, and the use of technology to reach new levels of design innovation.

Featuring:
Tim Rodgers – Director, the Museum of Art and Design
Annabelle Selldorf – Founding Principal, Selldorf Architects, Pratt alumna (B. Arch. ’85)
Stellene Volandes – Editor-in-Chief, Town and Country
Moderated by Marc Rosen, cosmetics packaging designer and Pratt Trustee Emeritus
