Mei Ling Chua (PhD, RA, Leed AP) is an architect, environmental psychologist, and Visiting Professor in the Urban Placemaking and Management Program. By diffracting the unexpected medium of salt through collaborative and arts-based research methods, she examines the role of embodiment, meaning-making, and aesthetics in everyday and creative practices to understand the social and psychological factors that shape our agency and ethics in designing, making and inhabiting built environments. Mei Ling studied architecture at Penn State and completed a PhD in environmental psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center.
