Sarah Sher, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Historic Preservation MS program, is an associate partner at NYC’s leading preservation consultancy Higgins Quasebarth & Partners. She advises clients in the preservation and rehabilitation of historic properties. Her work is wide-ranging: from restoration projects requiring extensive documentation and assessment, to new buildings affecting the historic built environment on an urban scale. She will discuss the award-winning adaptive reuse of Pier 57 in Manhattan, a project that illustrates the extraordinary versatility and transformational potential of historic infrastructure as it’s repurposed for community use.
