Virtual Studio Visit: Dave McKean

The AAS/AOS Department’s Fine Arts Studio class will be hosting several studio visits with professional artists in the upcoming weeks. Some of these visits will be done virtually, allowing anyone to join in on the discussion and provide the unique opportunity to engage with experienced artists and gain insights into their creative processes, ideas, materials, and receive professional advice! These studio visits will be informal discussions with the artists, and we encourage you to come prepared with any questions you may have!

Dave McKean is a UK-based illustrator, graphic designer, writer, filmmaker, photographer, and musician. He has written and illustrated comics, graphic novels, designed and illustrated album covers, and illustrated books by Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, and Ray Bradbury. He’s directed his own feature film and done concept design for two Harry Potter films.
