A Critical Conversations Event
Join Pratt students, staff, and faculty in an afternoon of service as a way to honor MLK Jr.’s legacy of action, compassion, justice, and community care. We will meet in the Student Union by 12:15pm, commute to God’s Love We Deliver (166 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10013), and engage in service from 1pm-4pm.
“The mission of God’s Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. We prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. We also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to our clients, families, care providers and other service organizations. All of the services are provided free to clients without regard to income. God’s Love We Deliver is a non-sectarian organization”.
We will be supporting the organization with
- Kitchen Projects, 30 volunteers maximum: assisting our chefs by peeling/chopping vegetables, ladling soup, making salads, preparing protein, packaging & labelling meals, etc.
- Fulfillment (Meal Packaging),15 volunteers maximum: putting prepared meals into bags to be delivered to our clients later in the week based on their specific needs
