Service
PMC’s labs serve the printing and finishing needs of Pratt students. We offer centralized output in black and white and color laser with a choice of different paper stocks, from Photo to Matte paper. All computers in PMC’s labs have access to the printer fleet in the Print Center. For large-format printing, we offer a variety of standard papers as well as a large selection of specialty stocks, including canvas, cold and hot press, film, and transparency suitable for silk screening.
All of our labs are color-managed, and we offer a series of workshops done by the print and service manager LeMark McPherson each semester, which allow students to better understand the services offered and proper file preparation. The center works directly with faculty who may have projects in their classes that involve students using the center’s services.
Students are given a free print allotment equivalent to 150 B/W letter-sized pages every semester($10). Students use their Pratt Card to add funds for printing or other services that accept the card as a form of payment.
Our open lab for general printing and computer use is located in room 508. The service window is located as you exit the elevator to the 5th floor, with student technicians ready and waiting to assist.
