School Goals: Evaluation and Action Plan
Each year at its annual retreat, the School of Information evaluates the extent to which its goals are being met and creates an action plan to ensure goals are addressed. The evaluations and action plans for the last several years are available on the School’s Planning and Assessment webpage. From this page, you can also find the School of Information Strategic Plan (2019-2024).
Comprehensive Self-Study
In 2015-2016, the School undertook a comprehensive self-study of the MSLIS program, which is a requirement for seeking continued accreditation from the American Library Association. The study illustrates how the MSLIS program addresses the six standards of the 2008 ALA Standards for Accredited Programs: 1) Mission, Vision, Goals, 2) Curriculum, 3) Faculty, 4) Students, 5) Administration & Financial Support, and 6) Physical Resources & Facilities. The Self-Study is available on this website for viewing and download. In 2023-2024, we are completing our next Self-Study, which will be provided on this webpage once it is complete.
