On Monday, September 23, Pratt leaders joined climate change makers from around the globe at the Building the Future Summit to kick off the 2024 New York Climate Week. Pratt was invited to participate in the event in recognition of the Institute’s longstanding commitment to sustainability. Hosted at Nasdaq’s MarketSite in the heart of Times Square, the Summit was part of a series of Climate Week events created to bring thoughtful discussions around climate across all industries. The participants celebrated the start of Climate Week by ringing the Nasdaq Opening Bell with Laurene Powell Jobs, founder and president of Emerson Collective, and Tom Steyer, co-executive chair of Galvanize Climate Solutions.

Pratt Institute President Frances Bronet; Vice President for Institutional Advancement Stephanie Cook; School of Design Dean Anita Cooney; Executive Director of Development Jacob Korb; and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations Summer Krounbi were among the almost one hundred leaders spanning government, philanthropy, finance, and media at the event. As a founding core partner in The New York Climate Exchange, and the only independent school of art and design to achieve a Gold rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, Pratt has a proven dedication to advancing a better, more sustainable future.
