Mila Sullivan, BFA Fashion Design ’17, shared her senior thesis collection during Graduate Fashion Week’s first American showcase, which took place in mid-January in New York City. Graduate Fashion Week is a UK-based charity organization that offers a platform for bright undergraduate designers, connecting the dots from education to career and supporting the future of creative institutions worldwide. Sullivan was a finalist in last year’s International Catwalk Competition at the 2017 Graduate Fashion Week event in London. News of the showcase was covered in WWD and other media outlets.
During their time in New York, members of the Graduate Fashion Week team visited Pratt Institute, as well as the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parson School of Design, to get an early look at promising talent. The events in January were a precursor to June’s 25th Anniversary UK Graduate Fashion Week, in which class of 2018 graduates of 32 universities from 15 countries will show their best work.
