The New York Times, in an article on the Wallabout neighborhood of Brooklyn, mentioned the positive impact that Pratt has had on the surrounding neighborhoods including Wallabout, mentioning the construction of Myrtle Hall and the revitalization of Myrtle Avenue as examples. The article quotes Pratt Trustee Gary Hattem, chair of the Historic Wallabout Association and a long-time Wallabout resident, and Pratt alumnus Jim Morehand. The article also quoted Adam Friedman, director of the Pratt Center for Community Development, on a land-use study that Pratt graduate students will begin as a first step toward the possible creation of an “innovation corridor” between Pratt and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
