Biography
Founder of AKO, which includes womenswear, menswear, and accessories—the designs of which are licensed by Vogue patterns; academic background includes visual culture and studio practices that inform her approach to teaching and design, encourage contextual and conceptual vs. trend-driven design strategies, and conscious business approaches in her classroom; integrates and adapts contemporary market experiences into curriculum such as low-seam construction, zero-waste design, sustainable production, innovations in textile science, and social responsibility; continued research focuses on fair labor practices, environmental concerns, and animal-free materiality.
