Biography
Ang Wyman is a designer, artist, and researcher. Ang’s work ranges from graphic design to user interfaces, investigating the profound cultural impact of our technology-centric era. Co-founder and principal of Cross-Type, a human-centered design studio offering solutions spanning web, mobile, and print domains, with a focus on emerging digital platforms and networks, user experience research, open technology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Ang’s approach is rooted in intersectional justice, championing design for public good and adeptly unraveling complex communication challenges in new digital spaces and technology, working across disciplines.
With over three decades of professional experience, Ang has held design positions at Clairol, Morgan Stanley, the United Nations, Carin Goldberg, NY Magazine, and other well-known ad agencies in New York City. Their client portfolio includes Scholastic, Citibank, American Folk Art Museum, Bristol Myers, NYTimes, Apple, PictureBox Publishing, and American Express, to name a few. Former adjunct faculty member at Parsons School of Design and St. Joseph’s University, with experience teaching coding to thousands of women through an online startup. Awarded artist residencies at Yaddo, Babycastles, Espoo, and the MacDowell Fellowship.
