Biography
Ben Wellington received a Ph.D. from New York University, where he applied statistical techniques in the field of machine translation. He has dedicated his academic and professional time to studying large data-sets, an increasingly important skill for planners entering the profession. He has extensive real-world experience in both the analysis of data, and also the presentation of it. His technical background allows him to collect real-world examples from government open data initiatives, and turn them into interesting and relevant assignments for his students.
