Biography
As a design leader and educator, Daisuke’s ultimate goal is to create an environment where people can use their talent and creativity to the fullest extent, with the goal to enrich our culture and benefit others.
Daisuke started his career at Pentagram, where he had the opportunity to work with a variety of high-profile clients such as American Folk Art Museum, Amnesty International, Callaway Golf, and Herman Miller. While at Pentagram, he was nominated to Young Gun, and selected as one of Print Magazine’s New Visual Artists.
Daisuke joined the Flying Machine in 2004. As a VP and Creative Director, he helped numerous branding projects in traditional and emerging media for clients including ESPN International, Douglas Elliman, HFZ Capital, Sky Italia and Sports 5 Israel.
In 2006, Daisuke began his teaching career at Pratt Institute. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor, and he had the opportunity to teach five new core courses including Cross Platform Design and Senior Thesis Project. In 2019, he received the Distinguished Teachers Award.
Daisuke received a BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in 1999. His student portfolio received awards from the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club and Graphis, which helped him land his first job at Pentagram Design.
