Biography
Recipient of Pratt’s Distinguished Teacher Award.
Serves on the capstone committee of the trans-disciplinary STEM program in Sustainable Environmental Systems; teaches the writing-intensive course Science and Society for undergraduate Math and Science Core General Education credit; teaches the graduate course Science of Sustainability, which is a required component of the first semester of the SES program.
Prof. Chaky’s research as an environmental chemist has been on the origin, transport, behavior, and fate of chemical contaminants in the greater New York City urban environment and the lakes and rivers of the Hudson Basin.
