Biography
Daniel de las Heras is a Visiting Assistant Professor. Before coming to Pratt worked as coordinator and professor of the Fashion Design program at ESNE, School of Design in Madrid, Spain. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at UCM in Media, Advertising & Public Relations focusing his dissertation on the representation of gender and Westernization in fashion photography through the major campaigns of Yohji Yamamoto. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and an M.A in Contemporary Culture. He has over 6 years of academic teaching, coordination, and research experience as well as industry experience working in fashion brands like Zara, DelPozo, Esaú Yori and Bode. His research interests are in fashion studies, gender studies, and material/visual culture.
