Biography
Elizabeth is a Visiting Instructor for Pratt SCPS’s Sustainable Design Certificate Program where she teaches the certificate program’s Theory and Practice course as well as the BioDesign course. With a background in research and Phenomenology, Elizabeth is a multidisciplinary designer based in San Francisco. After finishing her MFA at Pratt in 2018 she went on to work as a Lead 3D Designer at Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) where she worked on creating narrative environments in London and in the United States. After working on the design of the Smithsonian’s Climate Change exhibit, she left the firm to continue her work as founder of Sum Studio. Most recently, she has co-founded the biomaterial company OurCarbon where she and her team are creating base materials with sequestered carbon from organic waste. The focus of her work is centered around material innovation and restructuring the linear product lifecycle.
