Biography
My research focuses on intellectual and educational spaces within and across contemporary contexts. In my teaching and research, I am interested in how individuals understand teaching, learning, and intellectual work across the linguistic, political, and cultural spaces in which they learn, produce, and exchange ideas. I am interested in inclusive pedagogical, epistemological, and intellectual traditions that reflect and leverage the border-crossing aspects of our lives. At Pratt, I teach classes in the Social Science and Cultural Studies Department and the Intensive English Program. My courses focus on border crossing and intellectual inquiry; the politics of social, political and cultural space; and topics in anthropology, cultural sociology, transnational studies, and comparative education.
