Biography
Farzam Yazdanseta, AIA, NCARB, is an educator and a licensed architect, registered to practice in New York and Maryland. He is the co-founder of Studio FOU: Studio Farzam Yazdanseta Ursula Trost Architecture DPC based in Brooklyn. Since 2012 he has been a member of the faculty at Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Farzam has held teaching positions at Rhode Island School of Design Department of Architecture, City College of New York The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology School of Architecture and University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
Farzam received a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP in 2010. He holds undergraduate and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Maryland. While at the University of Maryland, he won the first prize in architectural design for the 2007-2008 FormZ Joint Study Award Program. He was also selected as a recipient of the 2008 Thesis Prize in Architecture.
He currently serves Pratt as the Associate Chairperson for undergraduate architecture since April 2023. Previously he was the Acting Associate Chairperson from 2021 to 2023 and the Assistant Chairperson for the department from 2019 to 2021.
Farzam is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and NCARB certified.
