Biography
Genevieve (Eve) Leonard is a filmmaker and art educator. She has BFA degrees in Filmmaking and Animation from University of the Arts and an MFA in Film Directing from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
Her award winning short films include – Moving On : Best in Show in Loop De Loop 2018, Oozing : Best Animated Short for the Shorty Shorts Competition at Blobfest and Don’t Let Kids Play With Slime : Currently in Film Festivals – 3x Winner Best Animated Film. The cornerstone of her professional practice is to support an equitable film industry through service. Eve volunteers to advocate for gender equality by working as a co-lead for the NYC Chapter of Women in Animation (WIA). Her professional experience includes twenty years in arts education with positions such as Assistant Director of Digital Arts Programs and Department Chair of Digital Filmmaking at the Art Institutes, Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts and The New School.
