Biography
Gonzalo O. Carbajo, AIA, LEED AP is an educator and a practicing architect both, in the U.S. and in Argentina. He is a founding partner at Eray / Carbajo Architects PLLC, an architectural design practice based in New York and Istanbul with current active projects in London, Istanbul, New York, Rosario and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Gonzalo Carbajo, started his professional career at the office of Gerardo Caballero Arquitectos, a small prestigious design firm based in Rosario, Argentina. After collaborating there over 2 years, he won the “Fundacion Arquitectonica” prize, a scholarship to joined Zaha Hadid Architects in London, in 2006. He worked there for over 3 years and moved to NYC to join Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP (SOM), spending the last 6 years of his professional career there.
He founded Eray / Carbajo Architects in early 2014 in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout his entire professional career Gonzalo has been closely involved in the academic world as professor, lecturer and reviewer in Rosario, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Saint Louis, London, and New York for the Architectural Association, Pratt Institute, City College New York, Washington University and the Facultad de Arquitectura, Planeamiento y Diesño in Rosario, Argentina.
Since 2014 he has been a faculty member at Pratt Institute, School of Architecture where he teaches Comprehensive Design Studio for 3rd year and a “Complex Surfaces” based Seminar at the School of Architecture.
