Irina Schneid

Biography
Irina Schneid, RA, AIA, is a registered architect, educator, and co-designer. She is the Founder of Scharc Studio and Impact Wrkshp. Deeply committed to expanding community outreach through her teaching and practice, Irina founded Impact Wrkshp as a springboard for participatory design.
In her role as Assistant Professor of Interior Design and Community Engagement Liaison for the School of Design, Irina oversees interdisciplinary co-design courses and projects including SoD 401/601: Interplay: Ethics and Tactics of Co-Design, and SoD 405/605: SoD Co-Design Studio, and directs the Community Engagement Clinic. A recipient of the 2024 Taconic Fellowship, 2022 Center K-12 Faculty Fellowship, 2021 CTL Faculty Fellowship and 2020 IIDA Impact Stipend Award, Irina has developed infrastructure and programming to amplify community engagement across the institute.
Irina has lectured and taught internationally, with teaching appointments at Barnard College, Columbia University, Temple University, Drexel University, CityTech, NYIT, and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, Australia. Irina earned her B.Arch and M.Arch II from Cornell University and is licensed in New York and New Jersey.
