Biography
Jake Wright is a product designer and interactive artist based in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008, he began designing furniture and lighting in 2010 as a creative outlet while working as a web designer for a failing sheet company. The success and positive (if modest) press coverage of his early, military-derived work led him to focus full-time on his design practice, producing furniture and prints from the Gowanus Studio Space in Brooklyn. In 2015 he began teaching interactive animation courses at the New York City College of Technology, and as his practice shifted from design to fine art, he enrolled at Pratt Institute in 2018 to pursue an MFA in Interactive Arts. His current work explores the impact of digital media and technologies on human cognition, perception and memory.
